Charles Jones
The distortions inherent to history are
fascinating. We are free to
imagine whatever we wish about the mechanics of an event;
we assign the image, we interpret the components and ultimately
shape
it to our own unique and personal experience.
Charles Jones is a sculptor working
primarily in cast and fabricated
metal, including silicon bronze, aluminum, steel and cast
iron. His
recent work, "Cortes", incorporates carved ash,
cast steel and cast
resin in an assemblage addressing the conquest of Mexico.
