Garden Outpost offers a private space for a condensed private experience of the garden.  Senses are filtered through instruments of communication, listening, observation, reflection. Seussian copper trumpets snake in and out of the small grassy knoll and connect disparate areas of the garden, providing the viewer with an opportunity to experience multiple viewpoints and climates from one solitary vantage point.  As humans our connection to nature is often one of control, scrutiny, and, at worst, destruction.  Garden Outpost's location in a suburban backyard creates a distilled space for us to think about our human impact upon nature by isolating and emphasizing our habitual behaviors and creating an experience of solitary inner reflection.
